Singer/Songwriter guitarist Gilly’s love of performance and stage started at a young age, encouraged by her mum who ran an Irish Dance school. Studying Performing Arts at college she made her debut, at 17, as Alice Fisher in a stage production of the 1973 adaption of Keith Waterhouse’s Billy Liar.
After college Gilly joined Faringdon Dramatic Society, performing in local productions. However, her career took her in a different direction, which led her into the music industry. From the Royalty department, PR and Marketing to Personal Assistant to US and European based Senior Vice President, onto being Artist A&R and Music Manager.
Co-founder of Perry Road Studios, a commercial recording studio and independent record label. Gilly has also been an active member of both the Music Managers Forum and The Featured Artist Coalition.
Joining forces with Black Cat Radio, in 2008, Gilly developed the ‘Under The Radar Live From’ brand broadcasting live music performances directly from the Perry Road Recording Studio, providing artists/bands with a free platform for their music. Working with Huntingdon Community Radio to build the ‘Spotlight’ new music show and Cambridge 105’s Tim Willet to build the ‘New Music Generator (NMG)’ Brand. Gilly became a permanent radio presenter on Black Cat radio in 2018.
A published songwriter, Gilly was accepted as a member of BASCA – The Ivor’s Academy in 2015.
Finally returning to the stage in 2019 performing her own original songs and covers, her own debut album ‘Duffle Coat of Blue’ was released in 2022.
